Children

We love children here at Hunters Creek, and have many ministries for them to be involved with. These ministries exist to help fulfill our purpose, objective, and values. Below are some of the regular ministries that we offer for children and youth.

American Heritage Girlsahg

American Heritage Girls allows girls, ages 5-18 to serve others, make friends, and have fun in a faith-filled environment.  Meetings are at HCCC every other Monday, from September to May.  If you have any questions, email Tracey Gehman at tgehman@charter.net.

AWANAAWANA Lapeer Michigan

Children (grades PreK – 6th) have fun learning about Christ on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8:15 PM during September through April.  (Exceptions will be noted on the church calendar.)

The AWANA program is geared to lead children to saving faith in Christ and help them become Approved Workman Who Are Not Ashamed.

Cubbies: 3 years (potty trained) – 5 years
Sparks – Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
T&T – 3rd – 6th Grade

Also, at 5:45 each AWANA evening there is a dinner served in the Fellowship Hall. A free will offering is taken to help cover the cost of the meal.

Check the bulletin or the online calendar for updates.

Trail Life USATrail Life USA

Trail Life USA is a Christian adventure, character, and leadership program for young men. The K-12 program centers on outdoor experiences that build a young man’s skills and allow him to grow on a personal level and as a role model and leader for his peers. Living the Trail Life is a journey established on timeless values derived from the Bible.

We meet September – May on Monday evenings and on various days throughout the summer for outdoor adventure activities.  For more information, contact Troop Chairman Andy Gehman or Troopmaster Bryon Hogue.

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12 (NKJV)

VBS

Each summer we offer a very exciting and active Vacation Bible School program for one week during the summer (usually in July) for K-6 graders.

Our VBS, which usually runs from Monday through Friday in the evenings, includes exciting and unique learning opportunities from the Bible, singing, games, crafts, and other fun activities.

Sunday School

We offer Sunday School for all ages of children. Visit Sunday School to find a list of the classes and their location.

Children’s Church

Primary Church (K – 3rd grade) is available every Sunday.
Junior Church (4th – 6th grade) is available every Sunday.

Parents are welcome to keep their children with them during the service in order to worship together as a family if they prefer.

Hunters Creek Community Church also offers a Special Education Children’s Church (SECC) during the morning service.  They meet on the first three Sundays of every month.  This program runs the entire length of the AM service. Please feel free to drop your child off before church starts and pick them up after the service concludes.

SECC is for children with Special Needs. The target age for these students is 4-12 years old. We have trained and experienced workers attending to the children each week.  The class meets downstairs in the Kindergarten room.

The program assists your special child in learning God’s word through a variety of ways!  Please call the church office if you would like more information.
